KYMA Construction in Maize Underway!
On Monday, October 16 Eby crews began moving dirt at the site of the future Kyodo Yushi Manufacturing Americas’ manufacturing plant. The building will be constructed on the 20-acre site, located in the Maize Industrial Park near 119th Street West and 53rd Street North in Maize, Kansas.
The manufacturing space is comprised of three primary areas: raw material storage, grease manufacturing and finished product storage. The total area for the whole process covers nearly 50,000 SF, including a 15,000 SF mezzanine space. Bulk oil will be brought in via the new rail spur, and blended with other additives to make high performance greases for the automotive industry. In addition to the manufacturing area there will be a 11,500 SF office area.
KYMA is a joint venture between Kyodo Yushi USA and Lubrication Engineers. Kyodo Yushi is one of the largest grease manufactures in the world, headquartered in Japan. Lubrication Engineers is a long-standing customer of Eby’s that produces high-performance lubricants in their manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas. Prior projects for Lubrication Engineers include the office/laboratory addition in 1980, a training facility in 2010, a conference room/office remodels in 2014 and more recently, rail & drainage modifications in 2016.
KYMA is working with PEC and SJCF Architecture on the design of the facility.
