Paul Shamplina has announced his ninth Rumble with the Agents charity event and he’s now looking for estate agents and any other property professionals keen to put their gloves on and take to ring for charity.

Sponsored by Hamilton Fraser, the considerable sums that will be raised at the event will go to Legends on the Bench, a charity set up by former Spurs legend Micky Hazzard (pictured).

He will be a guest of honour at the event, with other ex-footballers attending too. Legends on the Bench helps combat mental health issues and prevent suicides across the UK.

Shamplina (pictured) says he’s looking for ten property people ‘willing to embark on a journey of fitness, skill development, and altruism’ to do a few rounds on the night for charity.

Experience of boxing is not necessary but the commitment includes compulsory group boxing sessions at Boxr Bootcamp in North London, supplemented by three months of individual training at local gyms.

The main event, scheduled for Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at the Holiday Inn in Golders Green promises an unforgettable evening featuring five fights, a three-course meal with drinks, a lively auction, raffle, and post-event disco.

Rumble with agents has raised nearly £150,000 for local charities since being founded and the guest crowd is usually a starry one of big industry names from the agency, supplier and landlords communities.

Agents Giving, the industry charity, is calling for talent video auditions for next year’s ‘Agents Got Talent’ part of the annual industry charity ball. Agents Got Talent will be held on Friday 12th July 2024 at the historic Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey and is set to see a whole new take on our industries talents!

Agents Giving are asking for agents and suppliers to send in their audition videos now, to see if they could be in with a chance to display their talents at the line up for next year’s show. They are looking for 10-15 headline acts in total. So, whether your talent is singing, dancing, music, comedy, magic, or a variety now is your time to shine.

Simply send the Agents Giving talent team a clip of your talent and if successful you could showcase yourself in front of hundreds of your industry peers. Clips must be less than two minutes long, just fill out the audition form on the Agents Giving website and upload your video. Successful acts will be required to fundraise for Agents Giving.

Hundreds of letting agents from across the UK joined forces at an annual event to raise £40,000 for children with life-limiting conditions.

The Agent Rainmaker Live event saw attendees donate to Promise Dreams, a charity which fulfils dreams including holidays, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and specialist equipment.

Agent Rainmaker Founder, Sally Lawson, commented: “This is the fifth year we have raised money for the awesome Promise Dreams charity, and the total was more than ever before.

“The donations will provide dreams for many very poorly children or those with terminal illnesses, and in total mean we have now raised over £200,000 for the charity.”

Over the course of the two-day event, there were plenty of presentations, success stories and opportunities to learn from others, as well as an awards evening.

Sally added: “We worked through the challenges of running an agency, our expert panel discussed the legislative landscape coming up and how we can help our landlords, we heard from experts on business acquisition, webinars, conversion, lead generation and AI. And we had four letting agents sharing their growth journeys in various styles from emotional stories to fun outlandish talks. Plus a mastermind, a VIP drinks session and an awards evening with comedian and singer to entertain us.”

London estate agency, Chestertons, has launched a new initiative with its e-Bike partner, Forest, to try and get 5,000 of its customers and clients cycling before summer 2024. If successful, the campaign could help prevent up to 60,000 kg of CO2 emissions entering the environment.

As part of the initiative, Chestertons will be encouraging all of its clients, customers and staff to sign up for a free Forest account which will give them an initial 30 free minutes of cycling and then 10 additional free minutes every day.

It has also launched a ‘Chestertons Cycle Club’ in collaboration with Forest, which will host events and allow members to claim additional free minutes across the year. The first 100 people to sign up will receive a total of an hour in free minutes, equal to four trips between Kensington and Mayfair.

In August, Chestertons began an e-Bike trial for 30 of its staff, encouraging them to use e-Bikes for their commute and to conduct viewings. To date, over 500 ride journeys have been completed, saving an estimated 53 kg of CO2.

Fion Wang, one of Chestertons Green Champions and manager of the Chestertons Cycle Club, commented: “Our staff trial went so well that we have pushed forward the next phase of the partnership with Forest and we are now ready to start encouraging our customers and clients into the saddle.”

In the last couple of months, Agents Giving has raised more than £20,000 from The Great British Property Cycle and a food bank appeal.

A group of agents successfully surpassed their cycle target of 5,000 miles during October, completing 7,357 miles in total and raising £10,277 to date for three charities.

The cyclists battled storms and torrential rain to support MIND, The Trussell Trust and the Agents Giving Grant Fund.

In November, generous agents joined forces to raise over £11,000 at EA Masters in the industry food bank appeal, which is now being complemented by the Christmas Stocking campaign.

Agents are being asked to collect everything from chocolates and biscuits to Christmas crackers and decorations for their local food banks – anything that will make this time of year special to those in need.

In addition, Agents Giving are once again partnering with Only a Pavement Away for their Winter Warmth Campaign – designed to collect and distribute items ranging from coats, jumpers, and personal hygiene products to rough sleepers on the streets.

The Winter Warmth campaign will run until the end of January and anything collected will be distribute on to local charities, hostels, and homeless shelters.

An estate agent from Skipton in North Yorkshire has raised almost £2,000 for a children’s charity by completing his first marathon in New York.

Sam Shaw, a director at Harrison Boothman Estate Agency, competed in the iconic New York City Marathon on Sunday 5th November, raising £1,800 for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

The money raised will fund much-needed respite breaks for families with children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.

Despite battling COVID in the weeks leading up to the race, Sam completed the 26.2-milechallenge in just over five hours.

Attracting around 50,000 participants from over 150 countries, the TCS New York City Marathon is the biggest marathon event in the world and traverses all five New York City boroughs.

Sam, who is 41 and lives in Skipton, spent six months training for the event.

He said: “Running in the New York City Marathon was one of the toughest challenges of my life but I’m delighted to have achieved this personal ambition whist raising money for such a great cause; every year the Trust helps hundreds of disadvantaged, disabled and poorly children to escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories.”

Dawsons Estate Agents in Swansea has just completed the physical fundraising challenge of hiking Snowdonia to raise money for its chosen charity for 2023.

Nominated by Gorseinon sales team manager, Matt Jones, after his grandfather suffered with the disease, the Motor Neuron Disease Association (MNDA) supports those fighting the condition, which currently affects around 5,000 UK adults.

A total of 13 team members took to the mountain and had to contend with rain, fog, and a rainbow before regrouping at the summit for a team photo.

Following their descent, they celebrated the event, which has raised over £4,000 to date, at the pub.

One team member, Kate Phillips, described it as “a once in a lifetime experience that I shall not be embarking on again’, but all with a smile on her face of course.

A team of estate agents in Leeds have raised more than £3,000 for Cancer Research UK after completing a gruelling cycling challenge that saw them pedal 2,300km in just five days.

Every member of HOP’s team completed at least six hours on one of four bikes outside the company’s Horsforth office, with the team clocking up 460km, or 286 miles, on each of the five days. This represented the 460 people that die from cancer every day in the UK.

HOP surpassed its initial fundraising target of £2,300 and has raised more than £3,100 to date, with donations still coming in. The company also sold cakes baked by the HOP team, as well as their family and friends, which contributed £350 to the total amount raised.

Luke Gidney, managing director from HOP, said: “This was a tough challenge and especially on the days that it was windy and lashing it down with rain, but every single member of our team was happy to participate and help raise money for such a worthy cause.

“We had passers-by of all ages cheering us on and jumping on the bikes to help put the miles in and the team from Workhouse Fitness in Farsley were also welcome guests who were only too happy to add a few miles, which was absolutely brilliant, when our legs were getting pretty tired!”

This latest challenge follows the HOP team tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks last year when they raised £3,698 for Ukraine Charity and Leeds Mind.
